Eustace ISD trustees approve multiple policy updates, committee and set 2026 graduation date

The Eustace Independent School District Board of Trustees on Sept. 22 approved a slate of administrative actions including updates to several local policies, formation of the district’s DEIC Committee and a calendar change setting high school graduation for May 22, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.
“Katie McCallister moved to approve the Consent Agenda as presented,” which passed after a second from Jeff Lawson, the meeting record shows. Subsequent motions to update Policy EFB(Local), Policy FD(Local), Policy FM(Local) and Policy FNCE(Local) were each moved and seconded and carried on unanimous votes of trustees present (Scot Bonner, Katie McCallister, Shane Carter, Joe Gomez, Jeff Lawson and Blake Ward). Ben Lane was absent.
Board minutes show the DEIC Committee was approved after a motion by Katie McCallister and a second from Blake Ward. The calendar change was moved by Joe Gomez and seconded by Shane Carter; trustees approved changing the graduation date to May 22, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. The minutes record final adjournment at 7:22 p.m.
