Forney ISD ratifies personnel actions, votes to report educator for abandonment of contract

After convening in closed session, the Forney ISD board returned to open session and approved several personnel actions. Chad Johnson moved to ratify employment of professional contract personnel as discussed in closed session; Hanna Bateman seconded and the motion passed 6-0.
Scott Regan moved that the board find no good cause existed for Virginia Spurgeon to abandon her contract with Forney ISD and authorized the superintendent to report the employee to the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) and the Texas Education Agency for review; Becky Dobbs seconded. That motion also passed 6-0. The board also approved renewal of employee contracts as presented in closed session.
