Forney ISD used its May 5 board meeting to recognize a broad set of student and staff achievements. Presenters included Kristin Zastoupil (chief of communications), Sarah Smith (executive director of future readiness), Neal Weaver (executive director of athletics), Mario Luna (director, fine arts), Robyn Pearce (chief of innovation), Jenae Glanton (director, theatre/dance/cheer), Macka Jones (director, visual & digital art), Kim Morisak, and Leslie Rader.
Items recognized in the minutes include Top 10 graduating students for the Class of 2025; associate-degree and certification recognitions; athletics honors (FHS girls soccer state semifinalist, state powerlifting, athletic all-state academic awards); NTCA drumline, Winter Guard International, esports and dance awards; Visual Arts Scholastic Event awards; SkillsUSA state awards; ProStart culinary recognition; FFA state qualifiers; student council state and national awards; and district and campus Teachers of the Year. The board took no votes related to recognitions; these were presented for acknowledgement.
