Roger Hughes was nominated and confirmed as president of the FLOYDADA COLLEGIATE ISD board for the 2025–26 school year during the May 13 regular meeting. The motion to nominate Hughes, moved by Eric Smith and seconded by Kay Brotherton, passed with three yeas, zero nays, one abstention recorded as "Abstain (With Conflict)," and three trustees absent.
The board also confirmed Kay Brotherton as vice president and Gracie Diaz as board secretary for 2025–26. Eric Smith moved to nominate Brotherton for vice president; Beverly Collins seconded and the motion passed with the same pattern of three yeas, one abstention and three absences. The nomination of Diaz for secretary passed unanimously among those voting (four yeas, three absent). All nominations were recorded as formal motions on the agenda and entered into the minutes.
