No audience members offered public comment during the open comment period.
Board materials and the Long‑Range Planning Committee outlined the rationale for the bond: renovate aging facilities, expand fine‑arts and career and technical education spaces, improve safety and security, and add capacity to avoid reliance on portable classrooms as enrollment rises. The committee met three times from October through December 2024, reviewed prior bond program data, tax-rate and financial information, building capacity and enrollment projections, construction costs and a November 2024 community survey, and recommended the $58,833,798 package to district leadership and the board on Jan. 21, 2025.
Board member Laura Otts moved to approve the order calling the election; Nathan Dempsey seconded. The motion "carried unanimously, 4‑0," and the meeting was adjourned at 3:03 p.m. The election date set by the order is May 3, 2025.
