The Board of Trustees adopted a resolution to approve a contingent-fee legal services contract and authorized entering into an agreement with Thompson & Horton, LLP; Eiland & Bonnin, PC; and O'Hanlon, Demerath & Castillo, PC to represent the district in multi-district litigation concerning youth social media usage. The resolution and the agreement were approved by unanimous vote (7–0).
The action included the board’s finding required by Texas Government Code provisions for contingent fee agreements and a request for expedited Attorney General review where applicable. The board discussed the matter in closed session under Texas Government Code §551.071 (consultation with attorney) before taking final action in open session to adopt the resolution and enter the agreement.
