The resident said she received no direct contact from police confirming the suspects had been removed from the street.
The Southern County Police representative said the department records calls and prepares reports based on what victims tell officers: “You tell me what happens, that's what I put in the report,” and offered to have a precinct community‑affairs staffer reach out to provide more information about why arrests were not made. The officer added that the department can provide a complaint/report number that residents can use to follow up and submit additional information.
Board members encouraged residents to request and retain complaint numbers so incidents can be tracked. Mayor (speaker 1) emphasized documentation is important so the village and police can spot trends and allocate resources.
The board did not take formal action on the case at the meeting; the police representative said they would check the report and follow up with the resident.
