Commissioners approve courthouse railing repair, fire system upgrade and small facilities contracts

Contracts approved at the meeting included a $1,597 replacement vehicle bay trolley system for an overhead door at a county property housing automobile service offices, a $600 contract to straighten and weld a pedestrian railing at the courthouse entrance and a $5,280 contract to replace an incompatible fire protection system in rooms at the Hancock County Justice Center.
Auditor Charity Rauschenberg asked that caution tape be placed around the repaired railing for safety until the work is completed; the board agreed and said they would contact maintenance staff to address the request. The items were approved 3-0 (motions by William Bateson, seconded by Tim Bechtol).
