Dr. Barrett Pollard reported that during the filing period only incumbents Charles Alderson and Linda Maxwell filed for two trustee positions scheduled for Nov. 5, 2024, and therefore no election was necessary. Pollard said he "hereby certify that Charles Alderson and Linda Maxwell are unopposed" and recommended the board accept the certification and issue an order cancelling the election.
The board accepted the certification and passed the order by motion of Loyd Hopson, seconded by Cheyenne Kizer. The recorded vote to accept the certification was five yeas, zero nays and two abstentions (Alderson and Maxwell, abstaining without conflict). The board directed that certificates of election would be issued at the November board meeting.
