The Gatesville ISD Board approved a five-year sponsorship agreement with Jim Turner Chevrolet of McGregor on Oct. 21. According to the presentation, the dealership will pay the district $30,000 in a lump sum as the district’s Official Chevrolet Sponsor for athletics; the agreement runs from Oct. 21, 2024 through Dec. 31, 2029.
Superintendent Barrett Pollard said the funds can be used at the district’s discretion and indicated the district would likely use them for covered and lighted batting cages for the baseball and softball programs. The sponsorship includes advertising at athletic events and on related facilities where funds are used. The board approved the agreement by motion from Mary Anne Leib, seconded by Linda Maxwell.
