Trustees hear updates on teacher incentive payouts, TAP funding end

District officials updated trustees on recent teacher incentive and grant payouts affecting pay and retention. Kim Dolese said the district had 16 TIA designations for 2022–23 and 8 for 2023–24 (three are new designations). "Payout from 22-23 was approximately $163,000, of which all comes from the state, and the estimated payout for 23-24 is approximately $243,000," she said.
Dolese also reported a second TAP payout on Sept. 25, 2024, of about $400,000 to teachers, and noted that TAP grant funding ended Oct. 1, 2024. District leaders said processes built under the grant — instructional leadership meetings, weekly job‑embedded professional development and evaluation systems — continue at campuses and are showing growth in both teacher capacity and student achievement.
The updates were informational; trustees did not take additional action but later approved plans and budget authorizations consistent with sustaining these initiatives.
