Galveston ISD to hold public hearing on 2025 budget and proposed tax rate

The Board of Trustees of Galveston Independent School District posted a public notice saying the "Public Hearing to present the Budget and Proposed Tax Rate will begin at 6:00 pm in the Board Room at the Lovenberg Administration Building, 3904 Avenue T, Galveston, TX." The hearing is scheduled for Jan. 22, 2025, and the regular board meeting will immediately follow to discuss the same budget and proposed tax rate.
Members of the public were instructed to complete sign-up sheets in the lobby prior to the meeting to address the board on agenda and non‑agenda items. The agenda also states that, under Texas Government Code Section 551.127 and current emergency guidance, trustees may attend by videoconference where necessary; any final action on matters discussed in closed session must occur in open meeting or at a subsequent public meeting, per the posted notice.
