Commissioners gave mixed but constructive feedback on training presented at the meeting and on staff update slides. Several asked that photos used in administrative updates include an address or other simple frame of reference so commissioners can quickly identify the subject property while reviewing updates.
Chair commented on the photo labeling: "It doesn't have to be, like, oh, this is the fence. It's just, like, this is the house," highlighting the desire for basic context rather than detailed annotation. Several commissioners said the training covered familiar material at the start but included useful examples of other projects and proposals.
Staff also reported that "Luisa and I were working on the general language for resolutions" to address cases where changes are discovered after a project is approved; staff expect to bring a draft resolution to a future HPC meeting for discussion. Commissioners suggested staff balance the level of slide detail to help the commission quickly jog memory while not duplicating exhaustive documentation.
