Technology Director Torie Marquez told trustees that the district began a phased rollout of ParentSquare in early November as a unified communication platform for school-to-home messaging. The initial phase is limited to district and campus administrators; teachers will be onboarded in the spring and summer phases. Marquez said approximately 58 percent of parents have registered for the platform to date and explained tools available such as targeted notifications, two-way messaging, emergency alerts and multi-modal delivery (including text).
The technology team will continue outreach to increase parent registration ahead of the teacher rollouts. The board received this update as part of the Superintendent's report; no action was required.
