Fort Sam Houston ISD board adopts 2024-25 district and campus performance objectives, sets STAAR targets

The Board unanimously approved the 2024-2025 District Improvement Plan performance objectives and campus improvement plans presented by Teaching and Learning Coordinator Lori Fuller and Principal Dr. Joseph Cerna. District goals include recruiting, supporting and retaining a highly effective workforce and HB3-aligned targets: increase Grade 3 STAAR Reading "meets grade level or above" from 62% to 75% by June 2029 and Grade 3 Math from 51% to 63% by June 2029.
Campus-specific objectives were also approved. Fort Sam Houston Elementary's targets include incremental increases in kindergarten readiness and 3rd-grade STAAR performance; Robert G. Cole Middle/High School set targets for STAAR performance levels, domain academic growth, and a goal to maintain college, career or military readiness (CCMR) qualification at or above 88% for the graduating class of 2025. Fuller described implementation steps including MTSS/RtI, professional learning, and mentoring for early-career teachers.
