The Flatonia ISD Board began its meeting by honoring student achievements and community supporters. Staff presented Bulldogs of the Month recognitions, named community recipients of the Bulldog Pride award (including the Masonic Lodge), and announced the elementary Christmas card contest winner, Savannah Deese.
The board also recognized a wide range of UIL placings from second grade through eighth grade. Staff read a long list of students and coaches who placed in storytelling, spelling, oral reading, number sense, music memory and other events, praising coaches for their work preparing students. Trustees and staff encouraged students who did not make teams to keep trying and thanked volunteers and community partners for their support.
"We had a very successful DYLD with elementary Flatonia placed in every event," a staff member said while presenting the placings and thanking coaches. The recognitions were largely celebratory and informational; no board action was required.
