The Flatonia ISD Board of Trustees approved a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) for the district's 2025 administration building construction project and authorized the board president to sign the final GMP amendment after review by the district attorney and the architect.
During the construction update, the construction manager said subcontractor bidding produced about 89 bids across scopes and that bidders are being vetted to ensure scopes match. The board book listed a total GMP amount; a presenter summarized that “the total GMP amount is $2,000,000.” After discussion the board voted to approve the GMP proposal and authorized the board president to execute the amendment once legal and architectural reviews are complete.
Construction staff said site work is scheduled to start on January 5 and the scheduling plan shows a 14-month plan with the team aiming to complete in about a year. The construction manager advised the board that some allowances were included for the Carl Smith Pavilion and other items; trustees approved the GMP and asked staff to proceed with finalizing contract amendments.
