The Fabens ISD Board of Trustees approved the consent agenda at its Aug. 20 meeting, including past meeting minutes, monthly financial reports, budget amendments, federal expenditures and several district handbooks. Trustee Greg Spence moved the package and Trustee Orlando Flores seconded; the motion carried 7–0.
Two consent items were pulled for brief discussion: Item E, the district's participation in the "I Love to Read with McDonald's Reading Initiative," and Item I, the Texas Education Agency maximum class size waiver. Assistant Superintendent Manuel Aldaco answered trustees' questions about both items; Trustee Orlando Flores moved approval of the two pulled items with Trustee Angel Ornelas seconding. The motion carried 7–0. The board recorded routine approval of federal expenditures and multiple policy handbooks that will govern the 2025–26 school year.
