GCCISD board approves eight hires, 12 resignations and three administrative appointments

The Goose Creek CISD Board of Trustees approved multiple personnel actions at the Nov. 11 meeting.
In open session the Board approved "THAT THE BOARD APPROVE THE EIGHT (8) ELECTIONS AND TWELVE (12) RESIGNATIONS AS PRESENTED." The approved elections included teacher assignments: Fabian Guerrero Chavez and Joshua Larzabal (Ross S. Sterling High School), Larry Harris (instructor, Ross S. Sterling High School), Amy Kaminski (Gentry Junior School), Raegan Medina (Victoria Walker Elementary), Emily Oaks (Alamo Elementary), Abby Olaughlin (Highlands Junior) and Brandon Thomas (San Jacinto Elementary).
The Board accepted 12 resignations and retirements, including retirements effective Dec. 31, 2024 for Pamela Aaron (third grade teacher, Highlands Elementary), Victoria Alvarado (data analyst specialist), Bruce Sorrell (data analyst specialist), Donna Walterscheid (first grade teacher) and Ricky Walterscheid (director of transportation). Other resignations listed specific effective dates in October 2024 and 2025 for various staff roles.
The Board also approved administrative hires: Viviana Castillo as Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (motion passed unanimously), Kendricka Moore as Assistant Principal at Gentry Junior, and Patrick O. Arnett as Assistant Chief of Police. Each administrative appointment was approved by recorded motion and vote as listed in the minutes.
The personnel actions were approved by the full Board as recorded in the meeting minutes.
