The Steger School District 194 Board of Education voted Oct. 16 to approve a proposal to develop a Long-Range Facility Plan that includes a 10-year life-safety survey and facility assessment. Board member Jill Raymond moved the measure and Board member Karen Turner seconded; the motion carried 4-0.
DLA Architects representatives Ed Wright and Keith Young presented the proposal, outlining the plan's purpose, scope and expected outcomes. The presentation described the assessment work that would inform long-term capital planning and prioritized life-safety needs districtwide. The board followed the presentation with a formal motion to authorize the proposal; no amendments were recorded and the motion passed unanimously. The approval authorizes staff to proceed with the next steps outlined by DLA Architects.
