Mayor Eberline’s slate of appointments to boards and commissions was approved by the council on April 21, 2025. Kuester asked whether the terms were too long; Clerk Sawyer noted most appointees were returning members. The motion to approve the appointments carried five ayes.
Committee reports included Finance Committee comments on setting FY26 wages, election forms, a historic preservation commission meeting with the State Historic Preservation Office, and plans to discuss 401 I Ave. The Public Safety Committee noted rescheduling an active-shooter training with the school district for May 20, that Officer Conger graduates from the academy this week, and that Ford Taurus repair updates were provided. The Public Works Committee reiterated discussion of the YMCA Aquatic Center request, updates on the wastewater treatment plant, drainage work along 235th Street, and an upcoming meeting with Rite Environmental, Inc. The meeting adjourned at 7:35 p.m.
