GPISD outlines TEA-aligned bullying-prevention lessons and Kindness Crew activities for October

Jasmine Gaines, LMSW and Student Mental Health & Grant Programs Manager, reviewed district plans for Bullying Prevention Month in October. Gaines said campuses will deliver guidance lessons covering signs of bullying, characteristics and related brain-science concepts; Panorama survey results will be used to measure school climate and to inform counselor programming.
Gaines described promotional activities including dress days, posters, a Bully‑Free Pledge and campus Kindness Crews that run monthly Kindness Challenges and service-learning projects such as Toys for Tots and The Big Event. Members asked how students can join Kindness Crews; Gaines said parents should contact campus counselors or provide names to her for follow-up.
