Board approves personnel elections and accepts resignations; two administrators named

The board approved five personnel elections and accepted two resignations and retirements: Robert Marquez, director of safe and secure schools, resigning effective Oct. 14, 2024; and Carol Pigott, a deaf education itinerant teacher, retiring effective Dec. 20, 2024 after 25 years with the district. The motions to approve elections and accept resignations were moved and seconded and passed by the board.
Trustees also approved administrative elections recorded in the minutes: Latonya Pittman as counselor at Ashbel Smith Elementary, Brittnee Duncan as educational diagnostician, and Jennifer Thorne as a secondary language arts specialist. The minutes list the names and assignments and record the board vote approving the actions.
