The motion to approve the selection was followed by a separate conditional resolution that requires a site visit and completion of a background check before a formal start; councilmembers approved the resolution by voice vote.
Ellsworth said she is “honored to be here” and that parks and recreation programming can bring families and communities together. City staff asked Ellsworth to coordinate an on‑site visit; she said she expected to be on site the following Monday.
Next steps: staff will schedule the site visit and complete the background check as conditions of the hire. Council directed staff to finalize the conditional paperwork and report progress to the mayor and council.
