Board adopts GISD investment strategy, designates CFO and finance director as investment officers

The Georgetown ISD Board of Trustees adopted a resolution on Sept. 16 to review and affirm the district’s investment strategy in compliance with the Public Funds Investment Act (Tex. Gov. Code Chapter 2256). The resolution designates the district’s Chief Financial Officer and the Director of Finance as the officers responsible for investing district funds consistent with the adopted policy.
The resolution also lists approved training providers for those investment officers, including the Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA), Texas Association of School Boards (TASB), Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO) and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, along with regional education service centers and training partnerships noted in the agenda text. The investment strategy resolution was included in the consent agenda and adopted as presented.
