The Georgetown Independent School District Board of Trustees unanimously approved the meeting’s consent agenda on Sept. 16, 2024, following a motion by Trustee Stacy McLaughlin and a second from Trustee Elizabeth McFarland.
The consent package covered several routine and required resolutions listed in the agenda packet, including nominations to the Williamson Central Appraisal District Board of Directors, adoption of the district’s investment strategy under the Public Funds Investment Act (Gov. Code Chapter 2256), and adoption of an authorized broker/dealer list that names firms such as Baird Securities, Merrill Lynch/Bank of America, Morgan Stanley and Wells Fargo. The board’s open session began at 7:01 p.m., and the consent vote was recorded as unanimous.
