Bruce Cheney of Ward 1 addressed the Finance Subcommittee during public comment and said he "doesn’t see the advisory committee having any purpose or goals or things to do," urging the council to define the committee's responsibilities.
Cheney also flagged a disparity in the draft agreement: one organization appears to receive free use of the theatre while nonprofits are charged $500. He suggested the fee structure be reviewed to ensure fair treatment of nonprofit users.
Committee members heard the public comment as staff continue to revise the draft management agreement; clarifying the advisory board's duties and fee policies was part of the subcommittee's direction to staff.
