Superintendent Dr. Eric Wright told the Hays CISD Board of Trustees on Aug. 19 that district enrollment is 24,872 and the district currently has 22 teacher vacancies. He also said the transportation department has been reporting an “all-clear” earlier each day and briefly described the genesis of a pending lawsuit over the state A–F accountability rating system.
Wright presented the figures during the superintendent report portion of the meeting and did not receive follow-up questions from trustees, according to the minutes. The enrollment and staffing numbers inform near-term personnel and budget discussions as Hays CISD continues to staff classrooms for the 2024–25 school year.
