Danielle Fischer, City‑County Wellness Coordinator for Lincoln‑Lancaster County Human Resources, presented the quarterly employee health and wellness update and highlighted several near‑term offerings for county employees.
Fischer said the wellness team will run webinars on sleep health, work‑life balance and mental‑health first aid between August and October, and that the current sleep challenge has roughly "50 to 60 participants." She also announced a September step challenge with individual and team participation options and said the annual employee health risk assessment is underway with an Aug. 14 deadline; the survey was shortened to about 10 minutes and results will be reported only in aggregate.
Fischer outlined that employee health screenings and vaccination clinics will be scheduled in November through Bryan Health, with additional options at Pine Lake Lab throughout the month; screenings will include blood work, biometric measurements and flu and COVID vaccinations. She also reported a nutrition counseling pilot with a dietetic intern that had about 30 participants, including 12 county employees, and said the pilot will be offered again next year.
