Henderson ISD trustees voted Oct. 14 to approve payment for mums purchased for the FFA fundraiser after administrators reported all funds had been collected.
Nikki Warner told the board total deposits for the fundraiser were $46,822 and the goods purchased from Williams' Plants cost $27,372, leaving net proceeds of $19,450. Because the vendor invoice exceeded the $25,000 approval threshold, the board required formal action; Shannon Coats moved the motion and Dr. John Taylor seconded. The motion passed unanimously, 6-0, approving the purchase and acknowledging funds had been deposited into the agriculture department’s activity account.
Board minutes record the action as an approval of the purchase for goods that had already been sold and for which money had been collected. No conditions or amendments were attached to the approval.
