Hays CISD board adopts vision, mission, beliefs and district goals for 2024–25

The Hays CISD Board reviewed and adopted several governance documents for the 2024–25 school year at its Aug. 26 meeting: the Vision Statement, Mission Statement, Beliefs Statement (amended and adopted), and District Goals.
Tim Savoy, Chief Communication Officer, presented the Mission Statement; trustees praised his creativity and presentation. Trustee Vanessa Petrea moved to adopt the revised Mission Statement and Trustee Esperanza Orosco seconded; the motion passed 7–0. For the Beliefs Statement, Board Secretary Vanessa Petrea moved to amend and replace with the on-screen beliefs; President Raul Vela seconded the amendment and the amendment passed 7–0. Following the amendment, Trustee Esperanza Orosco moved to adopt the revised Beliefs Statement and Trustee Geoff Seibel seconded; the adoption passed 7–0.
The Social Contract and Board Operating Procedures items were deferred to September 2024. The minutes attribute praise for the Mission Statement presentation to trustees and record unanimous passage of the governance items that were considered.
