Another resident described a recurring late-night alarm at a gas-station/mini-mart near Cherry Hill and Merriman and said multiple calls to police and ordinance resulted in limited resolution; the mayor said staff and Kroger are now engaged and the city will pursue enforcement action if problems persist.
Residents also promoted upcoming community events: Lorraine Citizens Council will host a back-to-school extravaganza on Aug. 14 and a Rosie Tea fundraiser on Sept. 19; the mayor and staff highlighted the return of Blues, Brews & Barbecue Aug. 7 -8 and the State of the City and business awards on Sept. 2.
