Estimates discussed in the meeting put parking repairs in the $90,000 -$100,000 range, the sign at roughly $43,000, and electrical work at about $8,000 -$9,000, for a combined total near $160,000.
Len Fisher, managing director of Inspire Theater, told the council the parking lot must be torn out and rebuilt because prior work left water-collection issues that create safety hazards; he said the theater has a cross-access agreement with a church next door to increase parking for performances rather than expanding the theater's footprint. Some council members said they would prefer to wait until the generator sale funds were in hand; finance staff replied the sale is in process and the city will return to council if additional funds are required.
