The Doraville Planning Commission voted to defer action on a zoning amendment for 6446 New Peachtree Road after the property's applicant requested more time to revise the filing.
City staff presented the application and said the current staff recommendation would designate the property T5, which could restrict the owner's ability to operate certain activities on the site. Kirsten White, speaking for property owner Kendra Morgan, told the commission the owner needed time for internal executive management review and possible changes to the application. "We as the property owner would not be able to operate," White said, describing how the recommended zoning could limit operations if a contract on the property did not proceed.
Commissioners moved to defer the item to the Sept. 2 Planning Commission meeting to allow the applicant time to work through those issues. City staff noted the item will also be heard at the Sept. 16 mayor and council meeting. The motion to defer passed on roll call with the commissioners recorded as voting yes in the transcript.
The deferral leaves the zoning condition unchanged for now; no further staff materials or revised language were presented during the hearing. The commission did not take further evidence or public comment on the item before deferring it.
