Resident demands principal Wilkin——be fired after daughter injured; board cites personnel rules

"I'm here to demand the immediate termination of principal Wilkin," the resident said, later adding, "Your school district is a joke. The board is a joke." He said a social-media post about the incident had "over 700 shares," pressing the board for an immediate response.
Board leaders repeatedly cautioned that the public-comment procedure limits what the board may do in open session. The presiding officer read the district's public-comment rules under the Texas Open Meetings Act and said the board would listen but could not deliberate or make decisions on items not on the agenda.
A district representative reminded the board that personnel matters are handled in executive session and said the district had followed the required protocols. The board did not take action or discuss personnel specifics in public.
