Board accepts low bids for middle‑school roof replacement and tennis‑court repairs

The Brecksville‑Broadview Heights Board accepted the lowest bids for two capital projects on March 18: the middle‑school roof replacement and repairs to the district’s tennis courts.

Treasurer Craig presented a bid tabulation for the roof, which showed multiple bidders and identified 5K Commercial as the low bidder at about $76,000 per the tabulation presented. Craig described the bid results as favorable, noting the project estimate was in the low‑to‑mid‑$90,000 range. “That was a good bid day for us,” he said.

For tennis‑court repairs the board received five bids and accepted the low bid from Vasco; staff discussed start dates and a plan to begin work after the boys’ home‑match season ends in mid‑May to reduce impacts on spring competition. Both contract awards passed on roll calls of 5–0.

Board members said the district will coordinate construction timing with athletics staff and follow standard contractor vetting and scheduling procedures before work begins this summer.
