County approves $2,000 for Fallon Junior Rodeo

Churchill County approved a budgeted contribution of $2,000 to support the Fallon Junior Rodeo, an annual youth event scheduled Sept. 4–9, 2026. Joe Sanford introduced the request and said $2,000 is within the adopted budget; the board approved the allocation by motion and voice vote.
Matthew Kent, vice president of the Fallon Junior Rodeo, addressed the board during public comment and thanked commissioners for placing the request on the agenda and for their support of the 56th annual event: “It’s youth like this that we do the rodeo for,” he said. The board paused to take a photo after the approval.
