Town moderator confirms Sept. 8 primary polling hours, requests select-board presence for certification

Patty Fergal, the town moderator, briefed the board Aug. 5 on the upcoming primary and general elections. Fergal said the primary on Sept. 8 will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the school gymnasium and that state/federal election-hour rules limit optional changes; the general election will be Nov. 3 with similar hours.
Fergal asked that at least a quorum of the select board (two members) be present during the day and that board members assist with post-count certification and sealing of ballot boxes after counting. She also requested volunteers to assist as ballot clerks for evening counting and to ensure partisan balance where possible.
