MassDEP expects about $1.8M in 604(b) subgrants; RFP due this fall

Megan Selby said the program will draw funds from two award years and supplemental funding, and that "this year, we are excited to be able to offer approximately 1,800,000, which is comprised of funding from the 2425 award years." She explained states must offer a minimum of 40% of each award to subgrants and encouraged applicants to structure tasks so projects could be partially funded from the separate funding pots.
Selby gave a timetable for the solicitation: "So, we're hoping to release the request for proposals in early August. It will be posted on our COMMBUYS website, the MassDEP website, and we'll send out an email announcement." She said proposals will be due at the end of September, the agency will run internal selection with EPA, and expects to notify applicants in fall/winter 2026 with contracting at the beginning of 2027.
