Jan Darrel Boone, Water and Wastewater Superintendent, presented a project to install 12‑inch and 8‑inch ductile iron waterlines and associated appurtenances on Carbon Coal Road and Industrial Park Road to serve the City of Gallup Industrial Park. The total project cost presented was $1,087,854.38, funded by a U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration grant (EDA08‑79‑05634). Council discussed the procurement process, selection criteria and the planned number of fire hydrants before awarding the contract to H.O. Construction Inc.
Councilor Ron Molina moved to award ITB‑2609 to H.O. Construction Inc.; Councilor Sarah Piano seconded and the roll call vote was unanimous. Staff will proceed with contract finalization and construction scheduling under the terms of the EDA grant.
