Hays CISD approves $377,335 security fence and hears update on recent threats

Board Secretary Vanessa Petrea moved the resolution and Board Vice President Byron Severance seconded; Trustee Geoff Seibel asked for clarification about the fencing project and Chief Safety & Security Officer Jeri Skrocki responded. The motion passed 6-0. Later in the meeting, Ms. Skrocki and Chief Communication Officer Tim Savoy briefed the Board on recent threats to the district; Ms. Skrocki thanked SRO Montemayor for his presence at the Board meeting.
The fencing contract and the security briefing were discussed as separate agenda items but form part of the district’s broader safety work. The minutes do not record additional funding sources or a construction schedule; staff follow-up is expected.
