Council debates $48,000 Oasis Online IT contract; decision deferred to budget process

Melinda Harris and City Manager Richard Braithwaite reported that Executech’s current service was unresponsive and that Oasis could centralize licenses, firewalls and printers and offer new hardware more cheaply than the existing arrangement.
Councilmembers sought clarification about which departments and how many machines and licenses would be covered and whether the $48,000 annual fee would replace the current $750 monthly Executech expense. Cameron Kinney recommended delaying action until the budget process so staff could provide a fuller cost analysis; the council took no action on the contract at this meeting.
