Webster City Council approves consent agenda, new liquor licenses and publishes 2025 wages

The Webster City Council approved its consent agenda at the Aug. 3 meeting, clearing minutes, claims, fund lists, licenses and a pair of resolutions. Mayor John Hawkins presided; the motion to approve the consent items was made by Council Member John Marvel and seconded by Council Member Megan McFarland and passed on a unanimous roll call.
Consent items included recommendations to the Iowa Department of Commerce for new retail alcohol licenses: a Class C license with outdoor service for Wildcat Products at 713 Second St., and Class E licenses for Now & Forever at 1102 Second St. and 1803 Superior St. The council also adopted Resolution No. 2026-071 authorizing issuance of cigarette/tobacco/nicotine/vapor/device retailer permits for Brew #71 and the Now & Forever locations. The council passed Resolution No. 2026-072 directing publication of gross wage salaries for full- and part-time city employees for calendar year 2025.
"It was moved by Marvel and seconded by McFarland that the following consent items including minutes, claims, fund list, licenses, and resolutions be approved collectively," the minutes record. The measure carried with Council Members Hawkins, Marvel, McFarland and Allers voting aye.
