Vice President Christine Borders opened a public hearing at 5:33 PM on Aug. 26, during which Grant Miller, KISD Chief of Finance and Operations, proposed a 2024–25 budget of $59,158,196 covering the General Fund, Food Service Fund and Debt Service Fund. Miller also presented a proposed property tax rate of $1.2552 per $100 of property value, allocated as $0.7552 for Maintenance & Operations (M&O) and $0.5000 for Interest & Sinking (I&S).
The hearing record shows that public participation was invited and that no one asked to speak. The presentation established the district’s spending plan and the tax-rate distribution that the board later moved to adopt. The hearing was part of a special meeting that had convened at 5:00 PM and reconvened from closed session at 5:30 PM.
