Parks staff asked the board to approve Resolution 24-46 to purchase a 2024 72-inch Exmark mower and striper kit from Johnson Tractor. Staff presented three vendor quotes and said Johnson was lowest; the packet showed a proposed net cost of $10,316 after trade-in, while the budgeted amount was $12,000.
"Our proposed cost is $10,316 when the budgeted amount was $12,000," staff said while presenting the cover sheet and motion language included in the packet. Trustees discussed trade-in values and confirmed the intended purchase specification (72-inch deck). The motion to approve the purchase was moved, seconded, and passed by roll call.
Parks staff also noted the donation and installation of a small free library at Community Park and that pond stocking and seasonal maintenance were complete; staff plan to contact Illinois DNR for algae-treatment recommendations for the ponds.
Trustees instructed staff to proceed with procurement consistent with the approved resolution and to follow standard purchase/order procedures.
