The Jay County Commissioners authorized a $100,000 drawdown from opioid-settlement funds to support construction of a Sober Living House. Kimbra Reynolds, Executive Director of the Jay County Drug Prevention Coalition, updated the board on progress, saying walls were complete and cabinets for the kitchen were installed in phase one and that phase two plumbing and expansion work has begun.
Commissioner Doug Horn moved to approve the drawdown pending county council approval; Duane Monroe seconded and the vote was unanimous. The drawdown is contingent on the council's later approval, per the motion recorded in the meeting minutes.
