The first would use Tourism, Recreation, Cultural Convention and Airport Facilities Tax Act grant funding to pay consultant fees for the construction of up to 20 stations along the Jordan River Trail as part of the Reimagine Nature and Emerald Ribbon planning efforts. The second is a State Dam Safety Grant to fund engineering investigation and design work needed to bring Red Pine Dam into compliance with Utah dam‑safety rules.
No members of the public registered to speak to either item. Council moved to close the public hearing for items B‑1 and B‑2 and to forward them to a future consent agenda for action; the chair recorded the motion as passed with two members absent. The policy analyst said the Jordan River work builds on county and city planning efforts and that the dam grant would support technical upgrades to meet state requirements.
