South Miami honors Officer John Collins as Employee of the Quarter

The City of South Miami presented Officer John Collins with the Employee of the Quarter award for the third quarter during Monday’s commission meeting. Chief Hatfield described Collins’ sustained record of arrests, citations and community policing and noted that he has served as a field training officer and acting sergeant.
“Officer Collins has gone above and beyond the expectations of his role, consistently demonstrating professionalism, initiative, and unwavering dedication to the mission of the South Miami Police Department,” Chief Hatfield said. Collins, who told the commission he has worked for South Miami for nearly nine years, said he was honored to receive the recognition and thanked colleagues and city leaders.
The mayor and commissioners joined staff in thanking Collins and invited family and colleagues to a photo following the presentation.
