The SHAC minutes record that Texas DSHS will provide presentations on the dangers of vaping and on Tucker’s Law (TEC 38.040) to HMS on April 7, April 22 and April 28. The minutes note staff are working with HHS and DSHS to replicate similar middle-school sessions but said scheduling has been difficult because of DSHS staffing needs.
The minutes identify the planned dates but caution that some sessions may need to be moved to the next school year if DSHS cannot provide sufficient staff coverage. SHAC members discussed the topic as part of the information items for the 2025–26 workplan.
