Chief of Police Travis Peden told the Board the department is "dealing with an ongoing oil leak on the squad car" and that, because of limited help from Ford, they are considering taking the vehicle to Pana for service. The department did not take immediate action beyond discussion and will seek options for repair or service.
Peden also said a certified officer employed by the training agency Lee Tech has expressed interest in part-time work to maintain his certification. After discussion about needed equipment and associated costs, the Board asked for additional information before approving any new hire or part-time arrangement.
